I had minimal success with other nutritionists and dietitians prior to meeting Karen Goldberg, but I could never sustain a diet. Karen's Nutrition 101 program doesn't teach dieting. She provides a plan to change your life and embrace healthy eating and healthy living. Her approach is simple yet comprehensive and it took the stress out of losing weight. In six months, I am more than halfway to my goal of losing 60 pounds, and with Karen's vast knowledge and easy-going guidance, I know will make, and most likely, exceed my goal. More importantly, I have never felt better.
I started working with Karen about 1 year ago and I wasn't sure how it was going to go because I had a lot of weight to lose. So far with Karen's help and customized meal plan I have lost 82 lbs and I'm still losing. There were some bumps in the road like holidays, parties and dinners out but with Karen's help I was able to stay positive and never get discouraged. I remember earlier talks with Karen. I told her I wanted to lose weight, but since it was so difficult, I may just live my life as a fat person. Then I met with Karen and she presented me with her meal plan. I followed that for a while, frequently calling Karen to ask her about details of the plan. I started losing weight, weight that I did not lose on other plans. Throughout the whole process, (I still have 6 pounds to get to my goal weight), Karen answered my questions and was completely supportive. She was never too busy to help me. About one year into my "diet", a gym opened across the street from where I work. I had always told Karen "I don't exercise." I eventually signed up for personal training sessions because I really wanted to lose more weight. I now exercise at least 3 days a week, and I love it! Without Karen's suggestion to exercise, I never would have joined a gym! And now I'm 40 pounds lighter!! THANK YOU KAREN!!!
During a trip to my general practitioner and a yearly physical brought me to a scary reality that I was pre-diabetic. I was really concerned because diabetes was already affecting my family. I did not want to be added to the list of diabetics in my family. My doctor told me that weight loss would be key in eliminating my pre-diabetic condition. My doctor recommended that I work with a nutritionist. My doctor recommended and gave me Karen Goldberg's business card.
At first I was a bit hesitant because I have always been a yoyo dieter. Six month prior to working with Karen I had tried for the third time to lose weight through Weight Watchers. I lost ten pounds in six month. I felt hungry most of the time and with all the point counting and Journaling all I ever thought about was food.
I met with Karen thinking that I was in for another phase of being hungry. Karen educated me in so many areas of nutrition that I could not have figured out on my own. Karen created a program that allowed me to eat six times a day. I was in heaven. I was eating nutritious foods that my body needs to metabolize and was not going hungry.
The results were immediate. The first month that I followed Karen's nutritional plan I lost nearly 20 pounds. When I started with Karen I was weighing at 210lbs. I measured and squeezed into a 38 waist pants, and I was wearing a size 16 ½ collar shirt. I am 5 feet 6 inches so this was quite a lot of weight for me. I started with Karen in January and by my wedding day in October I was weighing 165lbs and was wearing a 31 waist pants and a size 15 collar shirt. Most important the pre-diabetic condition is now non-existent. I am now on my own and I still go up and down with my weight, however, I now have the skills and tools that I received with Karen so I keep myself in check before returning to where I was at when I started my original weight of 210lbs. I am wearing a 33 waist pants and I expect to be back into my 31 jeans again by May. It is reassuring to know that if I ever feel trapped again in an unhealthy situation I can turn to Karen Goldberg again.

I STARTED SEEING KAREN ON APRIL OF 2009 AND ENDED IN DECEMBER. IN THAT TIME I LOST 20-22 LBS.WHICH FOR ME IS A MIRACLE. I TRIED OTHER POPULAR PROGRAMS AND THEY DID NOT WORK FOR ME. I NEVER OVERATE, BUT THE LITTLE BIT EXTRA WAS ENOUGH TO KEEP ME OVERWEIGHT EVEN THOUGH I EXERCISED.KAREN WAS ABLE TO CHANGE MY EATING PATTERN SO THAT I BEGAN TO LOSE WEIGHT RIGHT AWAY ON A STEADY BASIS. IF NECESSARY SHE CHANGED MY PROGRAM AS NEEDED. I USUALLY DID NOT FELL HUNGRY AND IF I DID I WOULD CALL KAREN AND SHE WOULD SUGGEST WHAT TO DO. I AM NOW ON MAINTENANCE AND I AM DOING WELL. EXERCISE IS VERY IMPORTANT TOGETHER WITH FOLLOWING THE EATING PROGRAM SHE SUGGESTS.
Working with Karen was an awesome experience, not only did I lose 35 lbs but I learned how to eat better. Seeing her on a routine basis, even after I lost the weight, really helped me to maintain my weight loss. I would absolutely recommend working with her to anyone!
